Leave Addis Ababa down the Rift Valley through Adama onto Awash. The drive from Adama to Awash (125km) is like turning the pages of geology books with various rock formations and remnants of lava outpourings. We will stop at selected sites to witness the geo heritages of the Rift Valley including the very scenic Lake Beseka to spot aquatic birds and crocodiles! We will have lunch at Metehara town, known for its year-round fruit shop. Then, proceed to Awash National Park. We will stay camping on the banks of the picturesque Awash River vegetated with riverine forest. Late afternoon, we will have a combination of game drive and trekking to explore the park's thorny shrubs and savannah grasses. We expect to spot Beisa Oryx, Sommering Gazelles, lesser kudu, Warthog, dik-dik, Anubis and Hamadryas baboons, the giant tortoise, Colobus and Grivet monkeys, Black-Backed Jackals, African Golden Wolf, and Crocodile in addition to the variety of bird species. Overnight camping with campfire
